Every winter, health and care services experience additional pressures due to an increase in seasonal viruses. Strong infection prevention and control (IPC) practices are essential for reducing the risk of outbreaks and protecting patients and staff during this busy period.

To support organisations, Antimicrobial Resistance & Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Scotland supported by NHS Education for Scotland (NES), have launched a Winter Preparedness Campaign. The campaign page can be access via the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual. This page brings together IPC guidance, information, and resources to help services prepare for and manage the most common seasonal infection risks.
