Establish a true medical history to ascertain whether the patient requires a NRL-free environment (see Latex Questionnaire Mar 2012 template (Word).

NB. The rubber seals on local anaesthetic cartridges are a potential source of NRL. The UK Medicines Information network (UKMi) provides information on which dental local anaesthetics are latex free [1].

Risk assess the situation on a case-by-case basis.
